Volunteer Opportunities

Due to COVID-19, CCP's Volunteer Program will be on hiatus until further notice. Please check back in the future for updates.

Are you passionate about photography? Intrigued by the phrase "arts integration"? Excited by the idea of volunteering for a cultural institution? Then, the CCP's new volunteer program could be exactly right for you! For the 2019-2020 academic year, we are piloting an intergenerational, intersectional volunteer program, which means we welcome every person from every background with every sort of interest to apply. No prior experience necessary!

Volunteer support will fall into three categories: gallery educators, community partners, and onsite events assistance.

  • Gallery educators deliver meaningful learning experiences in the CCP's galleries. You will work with classes at all levels and with other interest groups and learn how to tailor these experiences for different purposes and for a diverse range of learners.
  • Community partners help build relationships with community members. You will be involved in initiatives across campus and Southern Arizona to extend and enrich engagement with the CCP. Community partners may work with local artists, K-12 teachers, university affiliates, and other members of the CCP's larger community.
  • Events assistants work with CCP staff to develop successful public events. You provide vital help with special occasions at the CCP, such as artist and scholar lectures, exhibition openings, and other membership celebrations.

The pilot CCP Volunteer Program requires a minimum seven-month commitment, with ten hours of service per month, over the 2019-2020 academic year, with the option for extensions. We ask that our volunteers be available for weekly training during the fall semester, with less-frequent advanced training in the spring.

Weekly training will be held from 12:00-12:50pm every Friday from September 27, 2019 to December 06, 2019. The program will offer behind-the-scenes insights into the CCP, photography studies, and education in the arts. Meet CCP staff, learn about our day-to-day operations, interact with visiting artists and scholars, and enjoy complimentary access to CCP events!
