Join us for a lunchtime virtual panel about photographer and social justice advocate Marion Palfi (1907-1978) and the role of the archive. Audrey Sands, Norton Family Assistant Curator of Photography, is joined by curators and archivists from the three national repositories with major holdings of Marion Palfi’s work—The Center for Creative Photography, the Spencer Museum of Art at the University of Kansas, and the Amistad Research Center. The conversation will explore Palfi’s practice, the histories of these distinct collections and how they are used today for teaching and research, and what is means to be the custodians of an artist’s legacy.
